Gore Christmas Carnival 2024
The Gore Kids Hub team had a fantastic time at the Gore Christmas Carnival 2024, despite facing some challenging weather in the morning. Fortunately, the sun came out in the afternoon, and they were able to enjoy a beautiful day with families from around the community. They set up an exciting space for their new outdoor games, which were a huge hit with attendees. The games catered to all ages, and it was wonderful to see parents and children connecting, with many families making special memories together during what can be a difficult time of year. Around 55 families joined in on the fun, making it a highly successful and enjoyable addition to the event.
The games were funded by the Hokonui Hauora Fund, enabling the team to offer a variety of activities, including a bubble machine, disco ball and lights, wooden skittles, giant dominoes, giant tumble tower, giant quoits, and giant connect 4. The bubble machine and disco balls/lights will make a reappearance at their upcoming annual disco, which they’re really excited about. What made this event special to the Gore Kids Hub team was their ability to connect directly with families and create a welcoming environment. It was uplifting to see families enjoying themselves, creating memories, and coming together in such a positive way. It was truly a rewarding experience, and we're proud to have supported such a wonderful community initiative.
